The most recognizable night sky in art, rebuilt one drill at a time. Van Gogh painted these swirls as thick ropes of impasto — which is what a drill grid does naturally, so the sky lays down as banded ribbons of cobalt and indigo (DMC 820 and 939 carry over 13,000 of the 19,881 drills — long, satisfying runs). The cypress rises the full left edge as one dark shape, and the sleeping village keeps the only warm drills on the canvas: a handful of lamplit windows that read like embers against all that blue. The engine painted a 200×200 working grid, its pixel lattice was recovered cell-for-cell, and this 141×141 window was copied out whole-cell — no resampling, no padding — with every color mapped to a real DMC code.
