Follow a sequence of rounded ridges into a bright band of valley mist. Dark treetops fill the lower edge, blue-green slopes overlap across the middle, and softer distant layers sit beneath a warm sky. Layered Misty Ridges gives these familiar Smokies forms an original square composition, with enough open light between the wooded slopes to make the distance easy to follow.

Mist between the ridges

The forest is most solid near the bottom of the picture. Farther away, each ridge becomes a broader, quieter shape. Pale mist interrupts the dark slopes rather than covering the whole scene, creating several separate passages of light. The warm upper sky gives the cooler woodland a gentle contrast, while the irregular treetop edge keeps the foreground from becoming a straight band.

The authored brief drew on the National Park Service’s Great Smoky Mountains photo context, including its mountain scenes. This is an original interpretation of layered forest ridges. This edition has a 50 × 50 cm picture area, approximately 19.7 × 19.7 in. Its 201 × 201 square-diamond pattern contains 40,401 positions, uses 40 DMC colors and has full-drill coverage. Canvas margins extend beyond the decorated area. A frame is not included; measure the completed canvas before choosing framing supplies.

Build the forest, then the lighter distance

The connected foreground treetops give you a clear shape to establish first if you like working from the near landscape outward. The mist and receding hills offer a different rhythm: longer curves and larger changes between light and dark. Work in small sections and use the printed symbols to follow those transitions. The picture offers both close woodland texture and a calm distant view without making a claim about how quickly it can be finished.
